Oktoberfest to celebrate German culture, beer
The 5th annual Oktoberfest will hit the Windsor Plaza Hotel in less than a month, giving Ho Chi Minh City dwellers a chance to guzzle some of the finest ales and lagers Germany has to offer.

The hotel’s Jade Ballroom will be transformed into a large beer tent to celebrate German culture and bring the spirit of Munich to Saigon, said Windsor in a statement.

Guests at this year’s event will enjoy a massive German buffet with plenty of sausages, sauerkraut, pork knuckle, pretzels, potatoes and other German delicacies.

Diners will wash down their meals with all the draught Krombacher and Schneider Weisse beer they can stomach.

The festival will be filled with music, games, and of course, lots and lots of beer.

Last year’s Oktoberfest welcomed over 9,000 guests and this year’s party will be one day longer.

After their rousing performance last year, Bavarian band Trenkwalder will be returning to keep the crowd energized with traditional German songs.

The German Business Association is co-organizing the event with the hotel from October 6-11.

The party runs from 6:30 p.m. late Tuesday to Saturday, and then 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

The festival nights are for adults ages 18 and up, but children are welcome on Sunday for family day, when children’s tickets are a half price.
